1. High Velocity Oil Flushing
If your lube oil piping is in poor condition or your turnaround activities might introduce contamination, a high-velocity oil flush can help clear out harmful buildup before restarting the system. Our reliability team will inspect your equipment and its circulating system to assess cleanliness. From there, a comprehensive oil flush plan will be determined based on the piping specifications and needs. The HVOF plan will be implemented to effectively remove any contaminants that could comprise the equipment and its performance.
2. Varnish Removal
Approximately one in three large industrial gas turbines show signs of oil varnishing. Varnish, a thin, insoluble film deposit that forms on fluid-wetted surfaces, is the inevitable by-product of degradation processes in hydraulic and lubrication systems. The costly effects of varnish can range from downtime and maintenance to catastrophic failures of equipment. We offer varnish mitigation solutions ranging from MPC testing to resin-based filtration to ensure you identify, prevent, and eliminate varnish from your system before its too late.
3. Oil Analysis
Instead of automatically replacing oil during a turnaround, it’s better to perform an oil analysis to determine if a change is needed or if the oil can be extended. Two to three months before your turnaround, we recommend collecting oil samples from all rotating equipment. These samples will help assess whether an oil change is necessary or if the oil can be used longer. In some cases, oil reconditioning such as filtration, dehydration, or varnish removal may be a more cost-effective alternative to a full oil change, especially for systems using synthetic oils. 4. Oil Filtration & Dehydration
Oil filtration and dehydration can be a more cost-effective alternative to oil replacement, depending on your analysis results. If your oil is contaminated with particulate or water, a service like vacuum dehydration can effectively remove the contaminants, helping to restore oil quality without the expense of a complete oil change.
5. Tank & Reservoir Cleaning
Cleaning industrial tanks is a critical step in maintaining operational reliability. Although designed to accumulate on the bottom of reservoirs, heavy contaminant build-up can lead to varnish, increased oxidation, and other fluid system issues.
Using Confined Space Certified technicians, we can perform reservoir and tank cleanings following all proper safety protocols. Reservoir cleaning is often recommended to be combined with other services to achieve maximum effect.
