Celebrating National Safety Month

Today, June 1, marks the start of National Safety Month. At Breaux Petroleum, safety is our most important core value. Each day, our employees demonstrate safe work practices whether they are in the office or at a customer worksite. For us, safety is a priority, not just a slogan.

In 2020, there were nearly 3 million non-fatal work injuriesreported in the United States. The most reported injuries were sprains, strains, and tears (source: Bureau of Labor Statistics). Accidents happen, but proper practices and preparation can help reduce potentially dangerous situations.

To support our mission of an incident and injury-free workplace, our employees take part in comprehensive training programs throughout the year to ensure an ongoing commitment to safety. Some of our safe-work practices include fully comprehensive employee trainings, defensive driving, employee certifications such as TWIC, HAZMAT, and DOT, as well as regular physicals and continuing education programs.

“At Breaux Petroleum, we take safety very seriously. It is our main priority,” said Derek Breaux, vice president of operations. “We leverage monthly safety meetings, daily tailgate talks, and ongoing training programs to ensure safety is at the core of all we do. We want our employees to return home the way they come in, each and every day.”
